What is the best method for cooking?

If you are a fan of barbecuing or cooking a la plancha , there are chances that you might be exposing your body to carcinogens. Toxic substances appear when animal fats are in contact with high temperatures. As soon as the temperature reaches 200 C, animal fat will transform into toxic substances.

It is better to opt for low fat varieties of meat and fish and make sure to cook them without adding any animal fat. Olive oil is a good option for temperature below 200 degree Celsius and organic canola oil for higher temperature. Clarified butter can be used at low temperature to add flavor.

A la Plancha grilling or using a flattop grill seems better than barbecuing because in conventional barbecues, animal fat falls directly on the fire and gets burned thus creating dangerous substances that impair hormonal balance. Inox pans are a better option for cooking meats with no fat, occasional barbecues are okay though.

Some people add herbs to the grilling fire for aroma. Herbs must be organic to avoid adding pesticides to your meat.

Hunters and Gatherers used to place meat around the fire not on top of it.Unlike what we think ,there was no direct contact between fire and meat back in the days.

It is advised to add vegetables to your meat to lower chances of contact between grilled meat and intestinal cells.

The best cooking method is at 100 degree Celsius and preferably with water or steam. Recent studies showed that temperature around 100 degree preserves vitamins and minerals. Veggies can be cooked directly on the grill, however it is better to chose fresh varieties as frozen veggies are sometimes injected with water to increase their weight and price so they will shrink in size upon cooking.

Adding flour to fish is used to create crust, yet the best cooking method for fish is a non adhesive pan made of ceramic material which is best to avoid any chemical substance from forming upon heat.
