Sun Salutation A
Sun Salutation A is a great way to start your day.
Engage in a series of 5 to 10 sun salutations every morning to experience a great evolution in your body strength and flexibility.
Cues:
Inhale arms up (elongate your arms and arch slightly your back)
Exhale all the way down fold forward fingers touching the floor or your ankles, keeping the knees straight.
Inhale flat back (look slightly forward and extend your shoulders keeping them away from the ears)
Exhale chaturanga dandasana or namaskar (knees down for beginners). Make sure there isn’t tension in the shoulders or in the neck.
Inhale Upward facing dog keeping your shoulders away from the ears.
Exhale downward facing dog for 5 breaths . Keep your back straight and use your core strength to pull the hips back to create a grounding sensation through the hamstrings and heels down into the ground.
At your fifth exhalation ,look forward jump or step the feet in between your hands.
Inhale flat back (shoulders down)
Exhale fold forward trying to get your face as close as possible to the knees.
inhale lift all the way up from your hips.
Exhale hands to the heart
