What is orthorexia?

In 2000 a new kind of disease appeared, patients were suffering from an obsession with eating healthy food.Orthorexia is mainly when people turn obsessive when it comes to counting calories and avoid adding fat to their meals.They become isolated because of their psychological issues.

It often starts with a simple diet followed by a lot of food restrictions. Psychologists explain that phenomenon as being the consequence of self-deprivation,the cure is to expose patients to those foods progressively, which will initiate an inner fight between consuming the Forbidden food and healing. One of their healing steps also consists in learning to associate eating with pleasure rather than punishment as well as the consumption of sugar and fat in moderation.

Fibers

In addition to their benefits to the colon health,fibers play an important role in colon cancer,diabetes,heart disease,obesity and premature death.

Increasing fiber intake by just 7 % lowers by 7 % the risk of strokes. Low fiber intake was associated to the stiffening of arteries.An additional apple,an extra 40 g of broccoli or just 2 tablespoons of beans a day during childhood could higher their health status.

It is advised to eat a daily dose of 25 g of fibers such as oats,beans,nuts,berries,whole wheat rice and whole wheat bread .

You can have porridge for breakfast ,add beans to your salad or enjoy a berry fruit salad to optimize your fiber intake.
