Okra and wild rice

This is one of my best detox meals as wild rice contains fiber and B vitamins combined with okra it adds folic acid and more fibers.

Ingredients:

Okra

olive oil

Wild rice

fennel seeds

cumin seeds

black sesame

Boil okra for 5 minutes ,until tender and add olive oil. Slice them and mix with boiled wild rice. You can add some lemon juice or vinegar to remove the gluey effect.Sprinkle some cumin,fennel and black sesame to add flavor.

my detox tea

I usually buy fennel and cumin seeds because of their healing properties such as soothing Irritable bowel syndrome pain.

My detox tea ingredients:

camomille flower

Cinnamon sticks

fennel seeds

cumin seeds

Boil all ingredients and let simmer for 4 minutes and enjoy your tea after meals.

Traditional green salad

Green salads are the perfect side to all meals whether you are having steak,chicken or fish.I prepared this salad with organic iceberg lettuce,cucumbers,cherry tomatoes and pine seeds.

Pine seeds are rich in flavor they contain iron,magnesium,monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats which curb appetite and are heart healthy.

I use authentic balsamic vinegar because most of the ones available in supermarkets are mixed with caramel flavors and sugar. To pick the best balsamic vinegar check the ingredients list as it should not contain any colorings.Traditional balsamic vinegar are expensive but totally worth it as they are very different from the industrial ones which are a mix of sugar and preservatives.

AOP Gruyere bites:

What better than French cheese bites when you have people over for drinks.

I always choose my cheese with the AOP(Appellation d’origine protegee) sign meaning that the milk used to produce the cheese  comes from a clearly defined region. The milk is then made into cheese in the same region, and the cheese is aged there until it is mature.It is better to eat traditional products as they have unique textures and flavors.

I have displayed the cheese in cubes and used tooth picks along with a cucumber slice to make them easier to eat.I chose whole grain and seed crackers as they make a good combination with gruyere.

Zucchini gratin

When you are in the mood for a traditional dish chosing the right sidedish can be problematic. Having steak with fries is too heavy so a green salad or steamed veggies are a better choice.Any dish Composed of a mixture of proteins,fat and carbohydrates should not be accompanied by a creamy side.Zucchini gratin is a good option for a light side as it adds a serving of veggies to your meal and does not contain additional fat.

Tomato salad

I found this particular tomato salad very light and fresh as it was prepared with different kinds of tomatoes which gives us a good load of lycopene.

What I loved about that dish is that it is served with a small portion of burrata which is adequate for one  person unlike the usual size which is too filling and creamy.
